Varieties

The bush blueberries of the Lepomäki farm are organic. The bushes grow in open ground and mature under a spacious and sunny sky. They get their sweet taste and nutrients from their excellent growing conditions in the middle of the most beautiful central Finland and in the vicinity of vast clean forest areas. Our berries are sought for from further afield because of their many qualities. Our berries are scientifically proven to contain plenty of antioxidants and other trace elements. They taste sweet and are a healthier option to satisfy your sweet tooth. The berries are icy like sweet candies and that's why both adults and children like them.

Aino

The farm's main variety is the Finnish Aino. In the processing, Finnish forest blueberry, gooseberry, crowberry and American bush blueberry have been used. Aino is medium in size. The taste is slightly acidic, but nevertheless sweet. It is suitable as a fresh and frozen berry. Due to its low acidity, it is a particularly good frozen berry. Aino sweetens when frozen and is therefore a little sweeter after freezing. The berry is suitable for eating as is, baking, curds, smoothies, juices and jams. The berries remain firm after thawing and are therefore well suited as decorations for cakes and salads. Aino is packed as fresh and frozen berries in retail boxes. The Aino variety is available fresh after the second week of August until the end of the harvest season.

Alvar

Alvar is a Finnish variety. In the processing, Finnish forest blueberry, gooseberry, crowberry and American bush blueberry have been used.

Alvar is the first to ripen on the farm and, due to its small quantity, also the first to run out. In terms of size, Alvar is slightly the only larger berry. The berry has a sweet taste and gets a little sweeter when frozen. The berry is very suitable as a fresh berry, but it can also be frozen. The berry can be used on its own, in smoothies, baking and desserts. Jams and juices can also be made from the berry. The berry is still solid after melting and is therefore suitable as a decoration for cakes and salads. Alvar is packed as fresh and frozen berries in retail boxes.

Sine

Sine is a small berry. The berries resemble wild blueberries in size. The taste is very sweet. Sine gets sweeter when frozen, so there is no need to add additional sweetness. When frozen, the berries remain loose. Suitable for use as a fresh and frozen berry, in smoothies, baking, curds, jams and juices. Available fresh a couple of times during the harvest season around mid-August and mid-September. Sine is packed as a frozen berry in retail boxes.
